Live Tempo and Live Playback are turned off, and the Espressivo setting is set to Meccanico, as recommended by NotePerformer. I have tried to reinstall NotePerformer, to no avail.

Our software overcomes the shortcomings of basic notation playback, by analyzing the musical context and generating suitable articulations, note transitions and other performance features on. NotePerformer is a one-of-a-kind sound library, specifically created for notation program playback.

Sibelius 8.6.1 is a fresh install with hardly any setting changes. The pages from the Sibelius 8 manual are attached. Get the best out of this software The playback straight from the score will come alive Control everything straight from the score. Section sizes can be overriden (between 2 and 8) using MIDI CC 104, or using our dedicated Sibelius and Finalescript plug-ins. If you use Sibelius you may be looking around for. All section members have their own random variations and intonation. When installing the new version (trial or otherwise), you will be able to copy the supporting files from Sibelius 7 or 7.5, which will include the NotePerformer Playback Configuration and Sound Sets you had set up previously. I assume the defaults should sound fine, just like in Sibelius First 7.1.3. Section-building is used to create authentic sections (8-8-6-6-4) from solo instruments. NotePerformer works well in the new version of Sibelius. You cannot use Rewire with NotePerformer in Sibelius, due to latency compensation/timing issues. The workaround is to temporarily switch to General MIDI playback when you wish to do live recording. I have played with the note length parameters in Dictionary -> Lines -> Slurs (above/below) (which is not possible in Sibelius First), but I cannot fix my problem using that the problem seems to run deeper than that. Prior to Sibelius 2019.4, you cannot do Live Recording with NotePerformer as your playback device, due to latency compensation issues.
I have uploaded two clips showing what my audio output is for both Sibelius versions for the attached score: In the second violins the slurs also behave strangely: it sounds as if I might as well have written all the eight notes in that part staccato. In the provided score the gaps between slurs in the first violins are very apparent and overstated during playback.
In Sibelius 8.6.1 the sounding gap between two adjacent slurred phrases seems way too big, and it even seems that the last note under each slur is articulated too loudly, as if it wasn't part of a slur.
In particular, slur playback seems very different, which is especially noticeable in the string section. I have noticed that scores that playback beautifully in Sibelius First 7.1.3 do not do so anymore in Sibelius 8.6.1. I currently have both versions installed. With both versions I have been using the latest version of NotePerformer.
